Chef Jenn's Portuguese Biscoitos

Cook Time15 minutes


  • 3 cups flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 3/4 cup butter, melted
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup sugar


  • Melt butter and put aside to cool
  • Whisk eggs and sugar together in large bowl
  • Slowly add flour and baking powder to egg mixture
  • Slowly add melted butter and knead
  • Let sit for 20 minutes so dough can rest
  • Flour work surface and shape dough into small balls (about the size of a golf ball)
  • Roll dough with palms to form rings, approximately 2 inches
  • Place formed dough rings on lightly greased cookie sheet
  • Bake for 15 minutes, until light golden brown
