TUJUANZA ERNEST
Catering Sales Manager at the Douglasville Conference Center

POP:  Thanks for taking time to chat today! Share with us, what is the one piece of advice you would share with others at the beginning of their hospitality/catering career?
TUJUANZA:  Experience is the best teacher and follow your passion, your God-given gift.

POP: What values would you say have shaped your life?
TUJUANZA:  My Grandmother Nora Holt brought me up in church. She taught me to “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.” In other words treat people how you would like to be treated.

POP:  What was your favorite meal as a kid growing up?
TUJUANZA:  My Mom made the best tuna. I loved taking tuna to school, most Kids thought it was gross. But once they tasted my mom’s she would have to make sandwiches for my friends. ?

POP:  Who in your life has influenced you the most?
TUJUANZA:  My Mother Jackie Adams. Ironically we followed the same career path in hospitality. She is so positive and upbeat. Has a genuine love for people and a heart for customer service. I still learn from her example. When I was a child she would write me notes and place them in my lunchbox and around the house. Today, she sends me words of encouragement by text daily. Whenever I’m down or doubt myself she is my biggest fan!

POP:  What is your favorite song lyric or inspirational quote?
TUJUANZA:  Funny enough…when things are going really good or a little haywire I blurt our “God Bless America.” Anyone around me long enough will hear it pop out. ? We truly need that right now!

POP: What is one thing people would be surprised to learn about you?
TUJUANZA:  I played the Xylophone and Violin as a teen!
