Proof of the Pudding operates each GetAway Café under a management contract or lease with the building landlord after the parties have decided to move forward with the concept. Only office buildings with adequate kitchen facilities and within the targeted marketing areas will be considered for the expansion of this concept.
Each potential location presents its own opportunities for a unique GetAway Café. We work with the best elements that are already present and enhance the location to fit the Proof of the Pudding and GetAway Café brand. Our method of transition is typically to take over the operation and continue to stay open under a temporary “pardon our progress” mode and make the desired remodeling changes over a short period of time.
Our first priority is to design and implement a new, innovative and pragmatic menu package that is easy to understand and delicious to taste. Secondly, we will suggest changes and new equipment that will bring the concept to life and accommodate the new menu initiatives. Third, is our emphasis on staff appearance, attitude, and professionalism, which calls for an extensive training, re-training and (if necessary) re-hiring program. Fourth, once the Café is in full operation, we work with our staff constantly to keep it crisp, clean and worthy of the gourmet Proof food.
The combination of “in-house” foodservice and “delivery” business will not only provide for an increased revenue opportunity, but also for significant economies of scale in the cross utilization of product and labor between the two concepts.
